Sandwich Ministry at St. Laurence

posted in: Announcements | 0

For those who may be unaware, St. Laurence provides a monthly ministry of sandwiches to the Drop-In Centre. Many parishioners faithfully make two loaves of sandwiches as per a rotation roster and we deliver them to the Drop-In Centre. This occurs on the second Monday of each month.

What is involved?
A roster is provided at the start of the year so that you can plan for your turn. If you see you will be unavailable, you are asked to trade with someone in a preferable slot. Most only make sandwiches twice a year. Sandwiches may be delivered a few ways, either brought to church on Sunday morning, brought to my home or taken to the home of Carrie Wright in Lakeview on Monday morning before 10. Sandwiches may be whatever you would like to make. Some favourites are ham and cheese, egg salad and tuna.

Contact – I am more than happy to discuss this with you if you have questions. I am also willing to assist ifI can in making this work for you. Please call, email me or talk to me at church if you would like further information. I will be putting the roster together within the next couple of weeks so please let me know if you are interested. Those whom we feed are most grateful for this contribution to their well-being and the care it expresses. We would love to have you join us.
