The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage

Join us for a soup supper and book study on Richard Rohr’s The Tears of Things. The ancient prophets have a reputation for anger and harshness - but that is not the whole story. This six-week study follows the evolution of the prophets’ relationship with God, as they move from anger at injustices, through grief and tears, to empathy, hope, and love. Along the way, we will consider what it might mean to be a modern-day prophet, how sorrow can become the soil for transformation, and what hope might look like in an “age of outrage.”
